Real estate runs deep in the Mitchel family. Trent is the fifth generation of Mitchels to work in the business, and the youngest member of the family to join Glenn D. Mitchel Realtors, the East County brokerage his family has been building since 1953. He grew up hearing about neighborhoods, homes, and the people who live in them around the dinner table, and now he brings that same hometown care to every client he works with.

The family’s real estate story began in Oklahoma, where Glenn D. Mitchel’s father, Trent’s great-great-grandfather, worked in real estate. Glenn came to California in 1942 to enlist for World War II, but he was classified 4F and couldn’t serve; he went on to work in real estate for about ten years, and in 1953 he opened his own brokerage, Glenn D. Mitchel Realtors. Trent’s father, Todd, is the fourth generation of Mitchels in real estate, and Trent is the fifth.

What sets Trent apart is how well he knows San Diego County beyond the listing sheet. He has spent his life exploring it: surf-town beaches, East County ranch land, mountain trails, and the wide-open desert. When he talks with you about where to live, he's thinking about the whole picture: your commute, your budget, and the kind of weekends you want to have.

Exploring All of San Diego

Trent's favorite way to learn a place is to get out and live in it. Some of his best days have been spent far from pavement, and that firsthand knowledge helps his clients picture the life that comes with a new address.

The Mission

Bringing Young Families Back to California

Trent believes California is still one of the best places anywhere to raise a family, and he wants to help more young families make it home. His goal goes beyond closing a deal. He wants to help people find a home that fits and then get them out enjoying everything around it.

  • Camping
  • Hunting
  • Fishing
  • Riding
  • Exploring

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. From tide pools to pine forests to desert trails, San Diego County has something for every kind of family.

Creative Paths to Ownership

Homeownership Doesn't Have to Be Out of Reach

Trent is always looking for new and interesting ways to get people into properties that don't have to be so expensive. Tiny homes are one of his favorite examples: smartly designed, smaller-footprint living that can open the door for first-time buyers, young families, and anyone who would rather spend less on square footage and more on living.

Every situation is different, so Trent takes the time to understand your goals and walk through the options that make sense for you.
